Former Manchester City defender, Joleon Lescott, is of the opinion that Arsenal stood out in the just concluded summer transfer window
Lescott said that the Gunners and Nottingham Forest had the best summer transfer window.
Clubs in the English top flight spent a record £2.44bn on new players in the just concluded transfer window.
Chelsea spent £434.5m, Manchester City forked out £212.3m, while Arsenal and Manchester United paid £208m and £183.5m respectively.
Lescott hailed the business done by Mikel Arteta’s side while also highlighting positive windows for Tottenham and Nottingham Forest.
“I would say Arsenal, in regards to which positions they needed to strengthen,” he said, according to Metro.
“Also Nottingham Forest. They were a lot more efficient this year.
“Last year they got a lot of players in, but this time around there was a better understanding of what they needed.”
