Lawmaker decries spate of kidnapping as gunmen abduct 2 in Bauchi

Suspected gunmen have abducted two persons in the Gumau community in Toro Local Government Area of Bauchi State.

The gunmen were said to have shot in the air to scare residents before whisking the victims away in the wee hours of Saturday.

Reacting to the development, the member Representing Toro Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives, Hon Dabo Ismail Haruna, condemned the recent abduction.

He said the bandits have returned to terrorize communities through incessant kidnapping for ransom after a respite of time.

He, however, assured the constituents of legislative interventions that will end the unfortunate incidents adding that the spate of kidnappings in the Toro Federal constituency has called for great concern in the state.

Haruna called on the State Governor, Sen. Bala Mohammed, and the Federal Government to urgently order the deployment of more security agencies to the local government to fish out the criminals.

The spokesman of the state police command, Ahmed Wakili, did not respond to messages and calls to him to confirm the incident before writing this report.
